Service centres of the tax offices open again

From 2 August 2021, the tax offices in Baden-Württemberg will be open to the public again. However, due to the still ongoing pandemic, it is necessary to book an appointment online first. This avoids waiting times for citizens and helps to better comply with the clearance rules

The appointment booking system can be found on the home page of the tax offices' websites. If citizens do not have access to online booking, an appointment can also be booked by telephone.

To protect citizens and employees, the tax offices have developed comprehensive hygiene concepts. Access is only permitted with a mask covering the mouth and nose. The required distance regulations as well as hygiene regulations must be observed.

In addition, an electronic contact form is available at all tax offices, which can be found on the website of the local tax office. There, citizens can also find out in advance about the local peculiarities of their tax office.

The tax chatbot of the Baden-Württemberg tax administration is also available to assist with general tax return questions. The chatbot is available seven days a week and around the clock. You can find the virtual tax assistant here:

In addition, the tax administration has Baden-Württemberg explanatory videos in use. In a short and concise way, each video explains in about 2 minutes what has to be done in certain situations or what possibilities the tax law offers. The link to the explanatory videos can be found on the Internet on the home page of the Oberfinanzdirektion Karlsruhe and the tax offices.
