Citizens are currently reporting requests for payment of a tax that they have received via SMS. The SMS contains a link which, when opened, contains a letter from the "tax office Baden-Württemberg" with a request for payment (no tax type, no period, tax amount three digits).
During calls, the caller pretends to be from the tax office and demands payment of alleged tax arrears.
Do not comply with these requests. Do not open the link. You will always receive such information from the tax office in written form and not via telephone calls or SMS. The tax administration recommends that you do not respond to such a call or text message or, if in doubt, contact the relevant tax office.
