Press Release Oberfinanzdirektion Karlsruhe

Adjustment of the access regulations in the service centres of the tax offices

As of today, the Corona alert level is in effect in Baden-Württemberg. In order to enable citizens to continue visiting the tax offices in Baden-Württemberg despite the dramatically worsening pandemic situation, the access regulations for the service centres of the tax offices have been adjusted. Therefore, from now on, the so-called 2G-regulation applies. This means that, as of today, visitors must present proof of vaccination or convalescence before entering the service centre.

"To protect citizens and our employees, these adjustments are necessary to minimize the risk of infection while still maintaining citizen services," said Hans-Joachim Stephan, head of the Oberfinanzdirektion Karlsruhe

It remains the case that access is only possible with mouth-nose protection in accordance with the requirements of the FFP2 standard and only by prior appointment.

Of course, an electronic contact form is still available at all tax offices, which can be found on the website of the local tax office. Citizens can also send their enquiries to their tax office online there.

For general questions on tax returns, the tax chatbot of the Baden-Württemberg tax administration is also available. You can find the virtual tax assistant here:

In addition, explanatory videos briefly and concisely explain what to do in certain situations from a tax perspective or what options the tax law offers. The link to the explanatory videos can be found on the Internet on the home page of the Oberfinanzdirektion Karlsruhe and the tax offices.
