Introduction of the 3G proof in the service centres of the tax offices in Baden-Württemberg

The tax administration of Baden-Württemberg has decided to introduce the 3G proof also at the personal visit in the service centres of the tax offices.

The 3G proof means that citizens who are not fully vaccinated or are not considered recovered will in future be required to present a daily negative COVID-19 rapid test when they visit. The rule applies to all tax office service centers, regardless of the current 7-day incidence in the respective city or county.

It remains unchanged that access is only possible with mouth-nose protection (medical face mask or respiratory protection that meets the requirements of the FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable standards) and only by prior appointment.

In addition, all tax offices continue to provide an electronic contact form, which can be found on the website of the local tax office. There, citizens can also send their enquiries to their tax office online.

The tax chatbot of the Baden-Württemberg tax administration is also available to assist with general tax return questions. The chatbot is available seven days a week and around the clock. You can find the virtual tax assistant here:

In addition, the tax administration has Baden-Württemberg explanatory videos in use. In around 2 minutes, each video briefly and concisely explains what needs to be done in certain tax situations or what options are available under tax law. The link to the explanatory videos can be found on the Internet on the homepage of the Oberfinanzdirektion Karlsruhe and the tax offices.
