What documents or information do I need to apply for child benefit?

• Children under the age of 18:
  • the tax identification number of the child
  • the tax identification number of the parent making the application
  • Birth certificate if the child was born or lives abroad
    
• Children over the age of 18:
  Depending on the case, a school, training or university certificate and possibly proof of the child's weekly working hours must also be submitted.
• disabled children:
  Disability certificate or assessment notice from the district office (formerly the pension office) or pension certificate
