The tax office generates a pre-filled tax return based on existing data
Initially available to a limited group of users; more people will follow
Filing tax returns is set to become easier and faster for many people. That’s why the new “One-Click Tax Return via App” feature will launch nationwide on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in the MeinELSTER+ app. To do this, the tax authorities will use data they already have on file to generate a pre-filled tax return and a preview of the estimated tax assessment. Users can review the information, make adjustments if necessary, and then submit the return digitally to the tax office with a single click.
