Are pensions tax-free?

Only a few types of pension are fully tax-free. These are, in particular, pensions from statutory accident insurance (e.g. employers' liability insurance association pensions), war and severely disabled persons' pensions and reparation pensions. Basic pension supplements for statutory pension insurance are also tax-free. Otherwise, pensions are generally partially subject to income tax.
