I had a service provider invoice me for "janitorial services" for lawn mowing and weed removal. Is that enough, along with the remittance slip, to get the tax break?

No, that is not sufficient. The invoice must be meaningful, i.e. it must clearly describe the services charged for. In your case, the invoice would have to contain, for example, "lawn care" and "weed removal", if necessary with an indication of the number of operations.
