Press releases tax office Weinheim

Renovation work at the tax office Weinheim

Some of the buildings at the tax office Weinheim are getting on in years. The part of the building where citizens were previously received will be completely renovated from 16.09.2024. The aim is to save energy, improve functionality and create a more pleasant atmosphere for taxpayers.

The tax office Weinheim consists of three buildings. In addition to the new building with a glass façade constructed in 2008, there are also two buildings constructed in 1967. The middle building, where citizens were previously received in person, is now being extensively renovated. From the start of the construction work on 16.09.2024, citizens will be welcomed in two containers on the lawn in front of the tax office.

Head of office Rüdiger Mangold: "The building, with a room height of 4.50 m, was not insulated and therefore resulted in very high energy costs. The layout of the rooms was also no longer up to date. With the renovated building, we will be able to save energy costs and welcome citizens in a more appealing way."

The building is now being renovated by the Mannheim Department of Property and Construction Baden-Württemberg and Heidelberg for a total of 2.7 million euros and is expected to be completed by mid-2026. For sustainability reasons, a 100 square meter photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof of the low-rise building, which will generate an average of 15,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This will significantly reduce the energy costs of the tax office Weinheim and thus reduce the financial burden on taxpayers.

It is also possible to visit the tax office Weinheim in person during the renovation period. For this, an electronically arranged appointment is required (as before). However, for organizational reasons, it will not be possible to make appointments for around two weeks at the start of the renovation work. During this time, citizens are asked to submit their concerns either electronically (via ELSTER or the contact form) or by post.
