As the new head of the tax office Ravensburg, I am delighted that you are visiting our website.

I have been in office here since 29.01.2024 and previously managed the Biberach tax office for over 8 years.

We, the staff at the tax office Ravensburg, would like to support you in your dealings with our office and in your tax matters.

This page contains new electronic tools under Service, which you can use to answer your individual questions on screen at your leisure and at any time: Under FAQ and under Tax chatbot, you can enter a keyword to find explanations of common questions and under Explanatory videos/instructions you will find a media library with various videos in which common questions are answered in a simple and comprehensible way, e.g. "My first income tax return", "Steps to the new property tax in BW - agriculture and forestry" or "How do I read my income tax assessment notice?"

Your contact persons are still available to you by telephone and are listed under Contact. If necessary, you can also contact me personally

In the course of general digitalization, the tax offices today present themselves as largely paperless authorities. In particular, the assessment of income tax, corporation tax, trade tax and VAT is organized in such a way that tax returns and balance sheets are submitted electronically and without paper documents, as is usually required by law. The functionality of paperless assessment is described in the explanatory video "Document retention obligation"

The tax authorities have made the free web application ELSTER - Meine Steuer mach ich online ( ELSTER - simply explained) available for creating and submitting electronic declarations. You must register electronically once (explanatory video "How to register") and can then use the full range of services offered by the platform. When preparing your tax return, you can copy and overwrite the previous year's data; there is no need to spend time searching for the correct input locations. You can view the data transmitted electronically to the tax office by a third party in accordance with the statutory provisions using the "Certificate retrieval" function and transfer it to your return (pre-filled tax return). You can also communicate securely with the tax office (e.g. submit applications and questions, send requested receipts scanned as attachments) and even receive the assessment in electronic form. Just take a look at ELSTER - it's worth it.

Our Service Center will be happy to help you personally. To avoid unnecessary waiting times and for better planning, appointments are available by prior arrangement. Details can be found under Service / Appointment and call-back system. The Service Center's area of responsibility has changed due to the digitalization and automation of tax assessment. Electronically transmitted declarations cannot be submitted in person. In the case of paper declarations, which are becoming increasingly rare, supporting documents are no longer checked immediately, but only requested as part of the subsequent assessment in accordance with risk management - this serves to ensure uniform processing. This means that you no longer need to submit paper returns in person, but can post them in our letterbox or send them by post. We recommend making an appointment for general tax questions (e.g. income tax reduction, tax classes, confirmation of residence, non-assessment certificate, etc.) as well as in the event of uncertainties prior to preparing the declaration

Your opinion about the work of our tax office is important - you are welcome to send us or me your thoughts and comments

Best regards
Roland Eberhart
