Why are taxes again levied on interest from a savings balance that was formed from income that has already been taxed?

In this case, the savings balance formed from income that has already been taxed is not used as the assessment basis for income tax, but only the investment income resulting from the savings balance (i.e. the interest). There is therefore no "double taxation".
