E-mails are similar to letter postcards. They can also be read by unauthorized persons. You should therefore decide for yourself whether to send us an e-mail and what information this e-mail should contain.

Due to the lack of data security, the tax office may only answer very general questions by email. Data that is subject to tax secrecy, official secrecy or data protection will generally be sent to you by the tax office by letter, fax or telephone.

If taxpayers or their tax representatives expressly request this, the tax office may, in individual cases, reply by e-mail. This requires a written declaration that exempts the tax office from tax secrecy in accordance with Section 30 (4) No. 3 of the German Fiscal Code (AO). You can request a corresponding form from us.
