Child benefit is only paid on application. You must submit this in writing or online to the relevant family benefits office of the employment agency (Arbeitsamt). A verbal application, e.g. by telephone call, is not possible. The application can also be submitted by an authorized representative in writing (e.g. your tax advisor). Please note that child benefit is only paid retroactively for the last 6 months prior to the month in which the child benefit fund received the application.
You will receive 250 euros per month for each child.
The child benefit will be transferred to your account monthly by the Family Benefits Office of the Employment Agency (Arbeitsamt).
